Astonishing, isn’t it, that adults can delight in killing innocent, helpless animals? And they have the audacity to call it "sport"! The baying mob in full cry. Those in fancy dress and their hangers-on. On horseback, on foot, on motorbike and in cars. All the dogs and all the paraphernalia of the hunt. Walkie talkie radios, mobile phones, powerful binoculars etc. All pitted against one terrified animal. This is no "sport", just bullying of the worst kind. Old-fashioned ignorance and bloodlust unleashed. Truly these are games for the gutless.

Bloodsports were born out of ignorance, are sustained by ignorance and will only survive with continued public ignorance as to what really happens. The Animal Cruelty Investigation Group (ACIG) tears through the web of hunt lies and deceit to reveal the sordid truth. Not just the kill. There is the release of live animals in front of the dogs (such as we filmed at the Quorn foxhunt) and other tricks used by hunters to guarantee their fun. For instance encouraging foxes and feeding them and providing them with cosy homes (artificial earths). Up to February 2000 we have found no less than 31 artificial earths in the area hunted by the Thurlow foxhounds. We have exposed links between foxhunting and badger digging. We seek to expose any hunting malpractice. For instance our exposé of tax fiddling by many Huntsmen. As a result each year the Government recoups many thousands of pounds for public benefit. Our video of hares being netted and transported by hare coursing enthusiasts was shown on BBC television in February 1997.

Clearly in the fight to end these games for the gutless we are not playing games. We are professional, determined and effective. We have to be. Hunters are suspicious of strangers and violent towards opponents. Bloodsports fanatics have threatened us, assaulted us and damaged our vehicles. Naturally we have to upgrade our tactics and use more sophisticated equipment to counter this. We do not break the law but with your help we will break the back of bloodsports and other cruelties. So who are we and how can you help? The ACIG was founded in June 1989 and now has some 2000 supporter’s world wide. We have a small group of specialist investigators who gather evidence, lawfully, of cruelty in bloodsports, vivisection, factory farming etc. We helped to reveal the cruelty inherent in the live export of veal calves to Europe. Our exposé of cruelty at the National Institute for Medical Research put an end to the burning of cats and rabbits by 89-year old Professor Feldberg. The resulting Medical Research Council inquiry concluded that Professor Feldberg deliberately broke the law.

We work closely with major animal welfare groups. We have no membership fee. On receipt of any donation you will be sent our twice yearly bulletin and our "How You Can Help" facts sheet. Accounts are sent with our summer bulletin. We urgently need funds to purchase more equipment and extend our investigations. Sooner or later these games for the gutless and the other senseless cruelties will be abolished. Your help will make that sooner.

THANK YOU. Mike Huskisson (Founder ACIG)
